Tonita Few is a multifaceted creative, donning the hats of author, poet, and storyteller. Her compelling narratives unveil the authentic tapestry of her life experiences to empower and guide others to discover their own voices. Within the truthful terrain of spoken and written expression, Tonita engages others in her art form. Her literary endeavors include her first collection of poems, From Pain to Purpose, to Her Life Story, which was released in 2013 and celebrated at a stellar showcase event featuring three courageous women sharing their personal stories of perseverance.
Black Butterfly: A Poetry Collection, released in 2023, is her newest compilation of poems, haikus, and short stories that illustrate Tonita’s love of the black butterfly and its spiritual representation of guidance, hope, and metamorphic change. Each poem, each story, is a written expression of the truth of her lived experiences. She presented this book of poetry at the SOLD OUT Reppin’ My Roots: Black Butterfly Edition event in her hometown to an audience of supporters eagerly awaiting the moment.
Tonita’s love for PEOPLE is the driving force behind her PASSION that has connected her to her PURPOSE. An advocate for human connection, Tonita uses her gift of writing in her personal and professional lives. She is a twenty-year non-profit professional, with a career that includes higher education admissions recruitment and academic advising, fundraising, and donor engagement and stewardship. As the Founder of Tonita Few Consulting, she provides contract fundraising services to non-profit organizations. Tonita earned her Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University.
Tonita’s next book, The Secrets We Weep, is scheduled for release in 2025.
